Double Oven!

We have an oven...a DOUBLE oven! We are so excited! We found it on Craigslist for only $150. It is a GE Profile series, convection oven!! It also has a "proof" setting for bread, but it doesn't seem to work. I may have to do something to program it...We'll have to play around with that.

On Sunday, our friends, the Pedersons, gave us a very nice gas cooktop. Mathieu was able to find the parts to convert it to LP gas, so that should be installed soon. I am looking forward to that!

I think Mat plans to do some plumbing work for the upstairs bathroom. I think he is getting tired of waiting in line to use the potty! LOL! Frankly, I like only having ONE bathroom to clean, but I must say, I am craving a SHOWER! We have been bathing in a large rubbermaid bin which we fill in the laundry room wash sink and carry to the bathroom. Then that is carried outside to dump after the bath. We've talked about how the pioneer family would use one bath of water for the whole gang! The poor guy with the last bath had cold and dirty water!! We have it good! We all get our OWN hot water to use and it is clean! Here is what our upstairs "bathroom" consists of so far, although we have since found a nice used cast iron bathtub at Re-Store for only $35! The sink and toilet we found on Craigslist. Sink: $20, New toilet in box: $60.

We are adjusting well to our warehouse life. I am grateful that this is only a season. I look forward to living on acreage again one day. Thankfully, the Lord has provided an amazing opportunity for Emily and Caley. There is a western riding facility only 15 mins. away where they work on the farm and in exchange can ride. They are learning Reining. It is basically learning how to herd cattle, but in moderns days, has become a Western sport. Emily loves to spin on the horse!

We are reading and learning all we can about Courting. It is a wonderful idea, but we are still figuring out how it all works. We recently watched a new DVD on this topic called "To Be One". It follows the courtship and marriages of 3 couples. Each is very different. It brought about some good dialog with the older 3 children. We are actively keeping our eyes open for a suitor for Megan. Aaron is not prepared to seek out a wife at this time, but he is seeking the Lord for direction for his career future. He is actually considering a mission assignment with Asian Access in Japan. We are praying for the Lord to direct his paths.

We are loving our new library here! What a treat to have a car to use to get there! Not sure if I posted this or not, but we were given TWO used cars when our suburban, affectionately known as "BOB", died. We had word today that someone wants to buy BOB in "as is" condition. We are grateful for this as well.

To GOD be the glory, great things HE has done!

I have been fascinated by the subject of courtship since it is taught so differently by different groups and families.

So happy for you that you were able to get a double oven. I am still working on getting my kitchen equipped slowly but surely.
